One of the first and most frequently asked questions I get asked is "What is the remedy for ______? Fill in the blank with everything for asthma to cancer to sunburn to an upset tummy.
Seems like a simple enough question but a good homeopath cannot answer this question with a remedy.
Homeopaths do not treat dis-ease alone. We treat people who are in a state of dis-ease. Homeopaths treat the signs and symptoms that a person suffering from asthma, cancer, a sunburn or tummy upset. To put it simply we can treat YOUR asthma, cancer, sunburn or upset tummy.
It is important to recognize that you are a wonderfully created unique individual. There is no one on this planet who has your exact symptoms when you are experiencing dis-ease. A homeopaths job is to discover your unique pattern of dis-ease and then to search for a close match to the dis-ease picture shown in a remedy.
Here's an example to help illustrate this.
A fun day has been had by your family at the beach. As you drive towards home you recognize some dis-ease feeling in your skin.
Mom is sitting straight up and holding her shirt away from her skin as it is radiating heat and is visibly red.
Dad is asking for a sweatshirt as he is feeling cold.
Brother is scratching at his back and asking his sister to scratch where he can't reach.
Sister is complaining of a stinging and itchy feeling.
When you get home you notice that all of you have what appears to be the same symptom, reddened skin that looks like the exact same sunburn, yet each of you are experiencing this sunburn very differently.
Mom may need Belladonna
Dad may need Arsenicum
Brother may need Sulphur
Sister may need Urtica Urens
You see the diagnosis is the same, SUNBURN, but the treatment is dependent on the unique experience of the dis-ease state and the remedy is selected to reflect that.
It is ok to ask me this question, but don't be surprised if I can't answer it simply. I will want to take your case and understand what makes your dis-ease unique to you. This is a privilege to get insight into what makes you so special.
